Interpreter Training for Deaf-Blind

Participants will leave the workshop with a basic overview of the different causes of Deaf-Blindness.  They will learn about the various modes of communication that Deaf-Blind individuals use as well as strategies to use while interpreting.  In addition, appropriate interpreter attire will be addressed. Participants will experience hands on learning by simulating vision and hearing loss which will help them to understand the impact of Deaf-Blindness.  

When: January 21, 2012 (Snow Date - January 28, 2012) This will take place after the NHRID general meeting - 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Where:  Granite State Independent Living (GSIL), 21 Chenell Drive, Concord, NH

This workshop is intended for working ASL Interpreters, ITP Graduates and ITP Students. 

CEUs: Participants will earn 0.3 Professional Studies (PS) CEUs/ACET credits for this workshop.
